I first went to Yamashiroya when I was still a college student in Fukuoka, back when I was on summer vacation,
30 years ago?
It was when the shop was run by slightly aged aunts and uncles, not yet under the current system.
Even so, visiting the three major toy stores, Kiddy Land in Harajuku, Hakuhinkan in Ginza, and Yamashiroya in Ueno, was a must for me as a college student.

It was really emotional for me to see my products lined up at such a Yamashiroya, and what’s more, it was hot to see them displayed with my daughter.
And then there are various soft vinyls of my friends, so it’s a fun space.

私が初めてヤマシロヤさんに行ったのはまだ福岡の大学生の時、夏休みを利用してお上りさんをしていた頃までさかのぼりますので、

まだ今の体制ではなく、少しお歳を召されたおじさんおばさんが営んでらっしゃったころです。
それでも原宿のキディランド、銀座の博品館、上野のヤマシロヤさんという三大玩具屋さんに行くのは
大学生の私にとってはマストでした。
そんなヤマシロヤさんに商品が並んでいるのは本当に感慨深いことで、しかも、娘と一緒に陳列されているのはアツいですね。
あとは仲間のソフビもいろいろあって楽しい空間です
