I believe that the Japanese ARTTOY manufacturer WONDERWALL played a significant role in inspiring me to create my own original characters in sofubi. Although the first company to produce my character in sofubi was the Hong Kong-based TOY2R, they lacked respect for creators. After the release of KNUCKLE BEAR, our relationship grew distant, and we eventually parted ways.
TOY2R claimed that the next planned figure, HELL HOUNDS, wouldn’t sell well after the first sofubi, but it was WONDERWALL who took the risk to produce it.
HELL HOUNDS ended up selling successfully, eliminating the need to work with TOY2R any further. After that, my original characters were brought to life in sofubi by WONDERWALL, headlockstudio, and various other manufacturers.
The character BONGAKONGA in this painting was released later by WONDERWALL.
